The issue of how to not get played is a concern a lot of people have. Nobody wants to be used, mistreated, and have their time wasted. So it's important that you learn what you can do to avoid getting played and be able to remove these people from your life quickly.

In this relationship and dating advice for women and men I will break down relationship tips and dating tips to help men and women understand the signs they are getting played and avoid getting played when they are in a relationship or while they are dating. 1. Address all red flags

One of the biggest mistakes people make in dating and relationships is being afraid to speak of issues and red flags that they see in the relationship. Address all the red flags in your relationship and see if the individual is going to correct the issue if it is a correctable issue or know if it is a clear sign that you do not need to move forward with that individual.

2. Being honest about your needs and your desires

Many people in dating, relationships, and even marriages do not openly and fully express their needs, desires, and what their standards are in that relationship. When you do not make it clear what you want you will find yourself caught up in a mediocre relationship. We are all unique and we are raised differently and come from different experiences. Some people want to love you but do not know how to. You can’t avoid getting played if you are holding back and you are not honest about your needs and desires.

3. Never be afraid to ask questions

Many people get caught up and get played while dating or while in a relationship because they do not hold that person accountable for answering the question and providing clarity to let you know where you stand in the relationship, what are the intentions in the relationship, and any other question that you may have. When you go through dating and don’t ask questions that are important to you, you will be frustrated and you will feel stuck when it will finally come out and you find your partner don’t line up with what you wanted or expected.

4. Set a deadline

If we are trying to avoid getting played let’s not play games ourselves. Many people go into dating or into relationships with no deadline or no vision of where they are setting the mark to know if they are taking a step further in the relationship or they decide it is not going to work. You can’t just let the dating or relationship drag on for so long if you see the relationship is not going to go anywhere. Always set deadlines as a way to avoid getting played.

5. You need to heal

Healing is a huge tip if you want to avoid getting played because when you have not healed you cannot be able to think and see things clearly because you are holding on to so much hurt and trauma and it will most likely lead you to the wrong relationship and allow you to entertain individuals who do not belong in your life. When you have healed you will be able to love yourself enough to not entertain someone who does not belong in your life and it will be easy to avoid getting played because you are able to see things clearly and avoid getting played.
