Eating a plant-based diet has been shown to help reduce cholesterol, triglycerides and blood glucose levels. Franciscan Physician Network family physician Dr. Victoria Othersen, who received additional training in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University, explains the health benefits of a vegetarian or plant-based diet in this video and how a person can get started in adapting a plant-based diet.
“A lot of people jump into diets. They change everything and it lasts for three weeks and they give up,” she said. “I'm looking to change your life. It's not a diet. It's how you live.”
